The Alabama Senate approved a measure on Wednesday that would eliminate references to "Jim Crow" or segregationist laws as well as all mentions of race from the state constitution.

The legislation passed in a 22-9 vote, with all Republicans voting in favor after an all-night session, said Republican Senator Jabo Waggoner.

I don't know what's worse? The fact that it took so long or the fact that it wasn't a unanimous decision???

Alabama--time to join the 21st century--wish they would stop sending the tornadoes to Atlanta.

Apparently they somehow overcame the blue laws--alcohol served on Sunday--that is odd--well, GA is headed that way---for better or worse. There is much that I don't understand about conservatism---beats socialism--I am certain of that.

If you want serious discussion on 'The South'/Bible Belt come to the Atlanta forum. We have analyzed this from top to bottom--fyi.

GA was founded in 1732--extremely painful for some to think of change. I can tell you that.
