Osama being dead does not erase what is happening in this country and what might happen down the road.

Why shouldn't his approval rating go up? He did what Bush could not or most likely would not do.

I'm a bit as you. I am going to give credit where credit is due, and that does start with The President, for orchestrating this operation, and all People involved in the death of a evil evil man.

The party does not matter at a time like this to me, when credit is due, i am not one to turn my back on knowing when something is so good, because of a party unlike some people on here.

However now can we get to the business of lowering our gasoline prices, food prices, get this economy moving, housing is still in a very downward turn, like to see it get better, there are other very important issues also, that need tending too, like our Border Problems, can we do something about that too!

Maybe the boost will last a month or so....election is to far away to help him.

He's finished!

Again congrz to Obama and Bush but mostly to the military and Intel community.

He'll get a big boost...but then what? If gas is $6/gal by summer, you'll see that disappear real quick.

In terms of his reelection - this will likely have little to no impact over the next 19 months - it will be the economy, spending, taxes, the debt, deficit and gas prices....as it should be.

The mission was hatched under Bush. It is called WATERBOARDING terrorists in GITMO. One finally spilled the beans about the courier system that OBL was using.

Barry should be giving President Bush the "Medal of Freedom" for his policies that got OBL.

Haven't you been reading the news?

It was BUSH and his enhanced interrogation program that gleaned this information 4 years ago.

Could this possibly be the reason Obama has changed his opinion on Gitmo

I think what it does do, whether you agree with it or not, is renew confidence that he is getting things accomplished.

Nobody had any idea he was about to get Bin Laden. And if he can get that done, what else might he get done?

I think that's going to be the mindset for a lot of people going forward.

Even a 7 point increase would surpass the boost he received following the assassination attempt on Rep. Giffords.

So, how high can it go? 10 points? 20 points? Will he surpass Bush's 90%?
I simply compare this to accomplishments the Republicans have had since they took over.

Shutting down the government over abortion comes to mind.
