Yes, you read it right, the "linchpin" to Osama's demise was through a terrorist captured in Iraq.

Quote:
Then in 2004, top al-Qaida operative Hassan Ghul was captured in Iraq. Ghul told the CIA that al-Kuwaiti was a courier, someone crucial to the terrorist organization. In particular, Ghul said, the courier was close to Faraj al-Libi, who replaced Mohammed as al-Qaida's operational commander. It was a key break in the hunt for in bin Laden's personal courier.

I really, really want to know how many anti-war Liberals will stand up and say "THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH!"

The answer, of course, will be none. And we all know its because hypocrisy and abject foolishness is the foundation of Liberal war policies.

So, i'll say it for you: Thank you President Bush for your anti-terror policies, your stance against Iraq, the capture of Hassan Ghul, and the ultimate killing of Osama Bin Laden.

So, the idea with this post is to establish that Saddam invited him over?

Not that I agree but here is the response from the left. The same person could have been captured with intelligence and covert operations. A full scale invasion wasn't needed.

Finding someone after 10-15 years, can't really be called a win by
anyone. More like an accidental find.

Would the link to the courier have been in Iraq in 2004 if we hadn't invaded and Hussein was still in power? The reason that Al Qaeda had a presence in Iraq was to kill US troops and destablize any US-allied government.

Did the Al Qaeda operative in question have a connection to Sadaam that went back to before the 2003 invasion?

Uh, not quite. This guy was caught in 2004. Bush had some part in the ultimate outcome, but not the only part.
