As a Permenant Resident Of the USA I have watched the political scene here with great interest. I came here with no pre conceived ideas about any of the political parties.
I sat and cheered Bush as he got his second term as i felt he was the better man for the job. I sat and cheered Obama as once again i felt he was the better man for the job.
I sat in disbelief at the absolute hatred between the followers of both parties during the elections. These are now not intelligence based elections but partisan hate fests. It seems that the "prize" of getting into the Whitehouse is far more important than solving America's problems once elected. This is now a "game" and a "game" that is destroying America far more than any terrorist attack.
I have watched the arrogance and disdain for the everyday American by the GOP and the lack of conviction by the Dems. I have myself been drawn into the partisanship on these blogs without realising how destructive that is.
It is now time ALL Americans say " Enough is Enough"
America will NEVER heal if the people trying to heal us are too busy with self interest. These Law makers were NOT put into positions of power to play personal reward games with the future of Americans. Even the killing of OBL has become a "who gets the credit" game..... pathetic. He has been caught........ Good Job AMERICA!
We should all be Ashamed that we now allow Partisanship to rule our heads.... If a guy is good at his job, whether Dem or GOP then we should ALL say so... If he stinks at his job, whether Dem or GOP, we should ALL say so.
If you really want America to be the Country it once was.... The one from when i was young and living abroad and we looked at America and said .... WOW!.... then get your heads out from your partisan Butts and get with the real programme.......... Making America ONE and once again the Country that the rest of the World wants to follow.

I agree 100% OP (except about voting for Obama, but then again McCain was not exactly spectacular either). It has become a form of entertainment like a sporting event. The end result seems to be the same no matter who we put into office. Anyone that could potentially be a game changer in how DC operates is quickly marginalized.

A good, red-white-and-blue posting. But this particular sentence is where you tripped up. That time has, quite obviously, not arrived yet.

The only way that time will come is when we ALL here stop being played by the media and stop being so damned partisan.... thinking that ONE party has ALL the answers.
WE are the only ones who can make the time NOW..... not the Politicians and law makers............... US.

What you seem to fail to recognize in your post is that the political divisivness is exactly due to one group wanting to return to the country that was once respected around the world, a fiscally responsible country with people depending on themselves and on family primarily and the government rarely.

vs.

That group that wants to fundamentally change this country to something it is was never intended: a European style Socialist democracy of large central government and reduced Constitutionally affirmed liberties, a welfare state.

And here is an example.

That's what I've been saying for awhile nonw.

Partisanship is what is going to bring this country down.

Not liberals.

Not conservatives.

Partisanship.

This is just what the OP had in mind when he made his post.

Go look in the mirror and see who he is talking about.
