I guess the American lexicon is full of offensive words that every ethnic group can find fault with.

Quote:
"Apparently, having an African-American president in the White House is not enough to overturn the more than 200-year American tradition of treating and thinking of Indians as enemies of the United States," Newcomb wrote.

After bin Laden was killed, the military sent a message back to the White House: "Geronimo EKIA" — enemy killed in action.

I had heard that when the word "Geronimo" is used in battle it's more an American Battle Cry of Pride - you shout "Geronimo" before an arduous task or in celebration, not something to denote racism or oppression.

"It is being interpreted as a slap in the face of Native people, a disturbing message that equates an iconic symbol of Native American pride with the most hated evildoer since Adolf Hitler,"

I really wonder how many Indians really give a damn about that. I know a few and not any of them will agree with this kind of thinking. PC is taking us over.

How about Daisy, American Beauty Rose, or any other flower. Someone would have taken the same kind of offense at that. PC needs to be crammed up the progressives as soon as possible.

Geronimo is a hero to Native Americans. I think he was right to defend his people against American aggression. We are all here now and so I want say who was wrong or right it doesn't matter. Using that call sign was wrong and I bet Obama didn't come up with it but he knew what it was. They could have picked many call signs. This is offensive. What if they would have said Malcolm X EKIA or Gotti EKIA. The result would be the same. The only people who hate PC are the ones who never have to hear constant offensive remarks about their race and culture. They hate it because they want desperately to scream these insults all day every day and have it accepted by society.
