Some domestic groups make America look like the world's largest collection of weirdos. Anyone who has ever been outside the US must have encountered jokes and criticism about America, mainly because the US does have many weirdos. The activities of the following damage America's world image:

- Republican witch-hunters.
- various Southern politicians that get elected for being anti-gay and pro-creationism.

- racists, xenophobes, islamophobes, homophobes.
