What about reinstituting a summer youth work corps like the did back in the 1930s? Sign up teenagers and send them out to rural areas and farms and national parks to work. They could pick fruits and veggies, clean up brush and cut grass, clean up parks and have their room and board provided as well as also earning money.
Lets teach them early on that they need to look to the government for their existence
Never mind the bureaucracy that would be necessarily need to be created to oversee such a program or the money government spending pulls out of the private sector.
Best thing to get youth into the job market and help unemployment in general is to repeal the minimum wage.

This is interesting that neither party has recommended it:

The reputed fascist leaning attributes of the Republican Party would be advocates to building a more patriotic Nation-State.

And,

The reputed socialist aspects of the Democratic Party would be promoting this as needed Government intervention to save the People.

But, instead, we have that third one.

Masterly Inactivity.
I learned in university this is actually a management technique. Do nothing until it is clear you can act without barriers to your actions.

That's great news. Now go tell those unemployed people who say they need more extensions that things are back on track and they can get jobs. And this means there are fewer excuses than ever to not cut some of the welfare handouts.

Our big gains were in healthcare, retail and hospitality/leisure.
While it's work, these types of jobs don't drive a recovery.

Goods producing was only a rise of 44K
Service was a rise of 224K

The US is still just limping along.

Not so true. As a former NJ resident, I can vouch for that. They are "purplish". For example, shorebaby is known for being somewhat anti-2A, but is somewhat conservative on fiscal matters. NJ is an anti-gun state with some fiscally conservative tendencies. Also it depends on where in NJ you're talking about. S. NJ (where I grew up) is more conservative than N/NE NJ, as you get closer to NYC. NW NJ is kind of hickville so sort of conservative there too.

Good! I'm very glad there are all those new jobs being created because it's time they start cutting the budget for welfare programs by a lot and this means the excuses are gone.

Let's all just say Obama and the new Congress are doing a great job with creating jobs but now they have to buckle down and address many of the spending problems.
