Are you, personally, better off now than you were on 1/20/09? Here is where I stand.

-Making $20k less per year than I was on 1/20/09 and my career dreams are completely down the tubes
-Paying almost 3x more on gasoline
-Worried that if I lose my current job I may not even be able to find work period
-I have a huge savings but do not feel comfortable spending it due to the economic uncertainty
-Have never been more fearful about my future or this nation's future. I am going to be bold and say this is our nation's worst catastrophe since 1859. The Great Depression has nothing on this.

Yes, Obama may have inherited a mess from George Bush, but instead of fixing it he has turned a recession into a depression this nation may never recover from.

Obama: "Mission Accomplished". People who thought they had a good start at investing and saving for a comfortable retirement are now left penniless and now dependent on goverment programs like social security and medicare for their support. They will reluctantly vote Democratic because they can't afford NOT to.

Both my spouse and I have had raises each year and my husband continues to work overtime.

Both our 401Ks are doing MUCH better.

I can't complain.

I'm doing a lot better. I got a raise, my 401k quadrupled, paid most of my debts off, I bought my first house, got married, and now I have a son on the way. I'm very blessed and sitting pretty.

I think it is time for the lazy bums to get up and find a better job instead of complaining about how they are worse off now when there are more jobs and better prospects than there were in 2008.

I'm doing A LOT better than 2009. In fact, things are much better now than they've been in the past 9 years after graduating college for me. got a great job doing what I like, working on my side biz, looking to buy a house soon, got married, my investments are doing well and I got a nice car.

Nah, but for real--I don't think it has anything to do with Obama, I'm just getting my life together and handling my business regardless of what's going down in Washington REAL TALK!

Huh? More jobs available today? Oh!! You must mean those 50,000 burger-flipping jobs at McDs that 1,000,000 people applied for.
