So you speak for most Americans now? Give me break.
Dick Cheney served his country honorably, made you and your family safer, and should be in the prayers of Americans.
I'm not sure he was honorable in his public service; launching an illegal war of aggression in Iraq certainly did not make this country safer.
But that's not the point of this thread. And I have to admit, some of the rhetorical bombs being lobbed in this thread make me sad. It reminds me of that thread where Nancy Pelosi was in the hospital for something and there were people outright hoping that she would die or not recover. It's ugly, and language like that doesn't have a place in respectable fora. I don't wish or hope for death for anybody. I hope that Cheney's heart troubles opens him up to the reality that in this country, far too many people are left without affordable access to health care. I hope he sees this, and then decides to act on it; changing his ways and helping in his later years to help make this country a better place through a better health care reform than the compromised one we got last year.
............and the loonie lefties show their true humanitarian side. Truly compassionate bunch of heathens, don't you think?
The big surprise is...Cheney has a heart?
The invasion of Iraq cost billions of dollars, wasted over 4,000 American lives and countless thousands of Iraqi civilians.
I'd mourn Cheney's demise as I did for Jerry Falwell.
8Let his days be few; and let another take his office.
9Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
10Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.
11Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.
12Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.
13Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
14Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
16Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
17As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.
18As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.
19Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.
Hey, it's the bitter progressive liberal thread.
Just think, if not for Cheney we'd probably not have many of the good security things that got us Bin Laden, kept the nation safe and so forth.
Liberals wish you dead, conservatives hope people get better. Another difference between the people and their brand of politics.
Were you not surprised by the thread posted the other day about wishing Obama dead through prayer? See post #43 above as someone is pointing that out.
That said, I'm not a liberal in the true sense of the word, but dislike Cheney yet wish him no ill will. Other "liberals" don't either. Some do but there's always people like that just as there is on the conservative side (see #43 above again which refers to what someone wished on Obama last week). It's both sides. Don't even think it only goes one way.
For fun you can go read DU, the underbelly of progressive/liberals/socialist/communists.
If not for cuss words the board would be a lot smaller.
They have no problems calling for people's deaths, curses and of course the confiscation of OTHER people's money.
I wish Cheney well, and when I heard other Democrats were feeling bad I wished them health.
I can see someone not wishing them to go back to politics, but the ill will in someone's personal life IMO is a sign of the immorality of those throwing around the bad wishes.

The President is a turd and is destroying the country in fast mode, but if he was ill or one of his family I wouldn't wish them ill will, I'd hope they would be Ok.
Also, talking against the President in a manner wishing them bad things is monitored by the FBI and Homeland Security. They would be following that IP address to it's home and beyond. Can be a chargeable offense depending on what was said. Not smart IMO.
