The latest from Krugman parrots the party line on the Bush tax cuts: "The bulk of the cuts went to a small, affluent minority."

Yet we know that the cost of extending the Bush cuts in 2010 was $3.7 trillion in total, and only $0.7 trillion was for the hated top 2%. In any universe, 0.7 is not the "bulk" of 3.7.

Can an economist be this bad at arithmetic? Or can we finally all agree that this man is more of a liar than an economist?

The numbers 3.7 and .7 don't appear anywhere in the article. How can he be wrong on a number you quote from thin air?

The article speaks about the cost of the budget surplus disappearing from 2000, and increase in deficit from then to current. He doesn't even mention 2010. The movement of money up has already been documented, to the point of vomiting. Just refusing the think it is willful ignorance at this point.

In this article he also states the multiple factors of increasing deficit (war, tax cuts, economic deregulation) and holding those accountable who were spending like mad a few years ago, that all of a sudden turned into deficit hawks. Sadly touting the same exact deficit increasing policies from a few years ago.

What the hell does any of that have to do with math? Even a small child can see no math was presented in the article.

Smile Paul Krugman, Democrat hack

Conservatoid "trickle-down" economic policy has proven itself a titanic failure.

Conseratoid "deregulation and free market" policies have led directly to the current Great Recession.

Thus, conservatoids now feel their economic expertise exceeds that of a Nobel laureate economist.

Krugman won his beauty pageant in free trade theory. Hayek won his on monetary policy. Hayek also won his when the Nobel Prize was more relevant, when it wasn't offered to a warmonger.

So yeah, Krugman is kind of stuck on stupid when it comes to MOST economic matters.
