Technically, NONE of that land belongs to Israel. It was a land grab by Europe and the United States to try and make up for not killing the NAZI's fast enough.
Palestine deserves its own country, and I 100% understand why they'd hate Israel.
It wasn't a land grab by Europe and the US to try to make up for not killing the NAZI's.
The Jews left Europe because of the holocaust for sure, and it was primarily illegal immigration to Palestine during those years, it was because they needed a land of their own because they were so unwelcome in Europe after the war.
We are now debating whether they have a right to independence in 22% of their own country.
People (and "peoples") have the rights they are willing to exercise and to the limits they are willing to defend them against other "peoples" who will very often have a different outlook on the idea and the actions.
The larger Q in this specific example, and one too few are willing to address, (for simplicity lets say a magic wand is passed and *poof* a new set of borders are recognized by all) is whether a country can be made where the Palestinians are.
Are the natural resources, trade and industry, public services, and all the rest that make a nation...
are these a practical self sustaining possibility there? I, and many others, have real doubts on this point.
I suspect that aside from the tribal animosities of wanting instead to have something they'll never be able to have, the pursuit of which have trebly wasted what capacity may once have existed, this viscerally understood reality is why such a government and nation have never been formed there.
Yes their own country but not at the expense of Israel. Let the Arab countries get together and donate land from their countries to establish the state of Palestine. Of course, if the ultimate goal of Palestine was not the destruction of Israel, this would have been done successfully decades ago.

Who granted that land to Israel? The United States and Europe were the first countries to recognize an independent Israel, and used the United Nations to give it to them.
It was a land grab, an act the United States should not be proud of. We've got plenty of those though.

I honestly don't much care. God gave the land to the Jews. It was their's thousands of years ago.

Looks to me like the Philistines had their own land. And the Jews had their own land there as well which covers more area than what the Palestinians had.
And they should have their own land today.
I don't call it a land grab, because there are plenty of illegal Israeli settlements in occupied land which is a land grab.
They deserve their own country....... NEXT to Israel (not within it).... Pre 1967 borders......
The wall is moved to the Green Line.
This is the positive answer.
The negative answer:
Now that they have a country, they are responsible for their own destiny (which is great. The Palestinians deserve their own country). It is their government's sole responsibility to prevent terrorism and violence towards Israel now that they got what they wanted. The Occupation will (rightfully) have ended, and the world will have no more of a case to whine about it.
If the terrorism against Israel STILL fails to cease with the support of the new government..... war. Sorry, but that's the truth.
This goes back to the end of WW1 when the former Ottoman Empire was being divvied up by the side that one the war.
The San Remo Accords are the first stop if interested in learning more.
There were other events and practices and agreements that happened for fifty years before under the Ottoman Empire that also impact these later events.

This part of the story happened thirty years and many events later.
No. It doesn't. It was the Jews 2000 years ago, and it was recently given back to them. It does not belong to the arabs.
Who says?
And if you say god gave it to them we know not to take anyryou say seriously.
