You think THAT, was an example of how we should deal with them? Really? What was accomplished?

NOTHING!

Liberals love to b*tch about Bush not taking drastic action on the flimsiest of rumors to prevent 9/11 (note Clinton took no action for eight years), then also complain he took drastic action to prevent the spread of chemical weapons to the Afghan battlefield.

Well, which is it?

So what actions has Obama taken since new threats were made by the same al Qaida this week?

Can I still get on an AMTRAK train without an invasive search of my person and belongings?

Got that no-ride list in place?

How about if Bush would have ordered new invasive body searches for anyone boarding a plane because he heard a rumor that al Qaeda may be planning to hijack planes?

Would liberals have cheered Bush for taking reasonable and appropriate steps to keep us safe?

Judging by the backlash to any measure Bush took to keep us safe by the left, I would say no.

Let me bring you up to speed about Islamic terrorists and planes.

Islamo-terrorists have ALWAYS been planning to hijack planes.

So now that they can't get on planes, they're rumored to be eying trains.

"Shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, detainees in the CIA's secret prison network told interrogators about an important courier with the nom de guerre Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti who was close to bin Laden. After the CIA captured al-Qaida's No. 3 leader, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, he confirmed knowing al-Kuwaiti but denied he had anything to do with al-Qaida.
Then in 2004, top al-Qaida operative Hassan Ghul was captured in Iraq. Ghul told the CIA that al-Kuwaiti was a courier, someone crucial to the terrorist organization. In particular, Ghul said, the courier was close to Faraj al-Libi, who replaced Mohammed as al-Qaida's operational commander. It was a key break in the hunt for in bin Laden's personal courier."

Phone call by Kuwaiti courier led to bin Laden - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_bin_laden_hunt_for_bin_laden - broken link)

See how that works?

If we had followed the liberal law enforcement approach (don't get me started on Clinton's non-approach approach) we would have never had the secret CIA prisons on Poland and Romania, would have never captured Hassan Ghul and BO wouldn't have his bump in the polls.

"The CIA got similar information from Mohammed’s successor, Abu Faraj al-Libi. Both were subjected to harsh interrogation tactics inside CIA prisons in Poland and Romania.
The news is sure to reignite debate over whether the now-closed interrogation and detention program was successful. Former president George W. Bush authorized the CIA to use the harshest interrogation tactics in U.S. history. President Barack Obama closed the prison system."

First strands on bin Laden gathered in CIA prison - BostonHerald.com (http://news.bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view/20110502first_strands_on_bin_laden_gathered_in_cia _prison/ - broken link)

While BO is busy shooting campaign commercials at ground zero, he should remind his loyal brainless sheep that Bin Laden would still be free had his policies been in effect in 2002.
A bunch of woulda-coulda-shoulda. And thanks for the early morning laugh seizure in re: the chemical weapons being loosed from Iraq to Afghanistan. I hadn't heard that fallacy in about 4 years.

Oh, and genius...THE U.S. HAS HAD CIA PRISONS.....FOR THE LAST 65 YEARS. Us, the Brit's, the Russian's and the German's have been renditioning people to their own secret prison's since the late 40's/early 50's. This was/is a small part of why people have viewed us as getting what was coming.

Learn to read something other than the "State" sanctioned propaganda feed, and the "underground" feed that is created by those who are operating the "State" information and the contracts for those secret prisons.

Mohammed did not reveal the names while being subjected to the simulated drowning technique known as waterboarding, former officials said. He identified them many months later under standard interrogation, they said, leaving it once again up for debate as to whether the harsh technique was a valuable tool or an unnecessarily violent tactic.
One unwary phone call led US to bin Laden doorstep - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110502/ap_on_re_us/us_bin_laden_hunt_for_bin_laden - broken link)

And the use of waterboarding did not lead to an immediate capture either...there were SEVERAL years between information and lead creation.
Another fallacy. You're 0 for 2.

They took possession of WMDs in Iraq
So now the left supports the Patriot Act?

Including yourself? Do you believe that every act of terrorism has legitimate roots?
There are reams of evidence explaining why OBL decided to attack the US and none of it mentions rendition or secret CIA prisons.

Clearly you don't know, or perhaps, don't want to know.
