To me, the only form of "reparations" that might be meaningful at this point would be to provide African-Americans with those tests that can reveal their African ethnic group(s). Then those who are interested can fill in history for their children. I've heard some AAs say that they feel they have no culture and/or not really history outside of what happened here in the U.S. Perhaps that will serve to raise the morale of some.

Unlike many other African descendants of the diaspora, they were not given the opportunity to really regroup without the constant presence of whites. Still, they have maintained and created a unique culture for themselves but still...there often seems to be a difference in sense of identity.

Who's stopping them? Those who need help paying for it, tell them to contact Sharpton. I'm sure sure he would help them out, he's loaded.

Did anyone say someone is stopping them? Go back and read my post again since you seem confused. Try to focus on this part - "the only form of "reparations" that might be meaningful at this point..."

maybe so but they are different types of law suits.
the jews lost property, the blacks were sold into slavery as property.
pretty horrible stuff but they are different types of lawsuits.
determining the cost of wrongfully selling someone into slavery or forced labor
is the key. monsterous
the list is long of those harmed how bout the indians & their property? how bout 4000 plus treaties made and broken? how bout the japanese their property and wrongful encarceration. ?
very little renumeration for either group.

There isn't a single person alive today who was involved. Why should we have to pay for crimes committed over 150 years ago?

Also Africans in America built this country, without our ancestors America wouldn't have the economic capabilities, military capabilities it's citizens take for granted. Reparations were promised by this oppressive, and savage government but as they have done since the dawn of their existence, continue to dishonor their word, especially to the builders and architects of this society.
