I don't understand why you only want the poor to have these rights. I thought I told you rights aren't means tested. I want everything free. I HAVE MY RIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!
me too!
i want everything free too. let's all have everything free!
maybe the government can just print the money so we can all have stuff for free?
oh wait, they tried that and it didn't work. our debt load is increasing, as is our trade deficit. our interest payments are burying us.
but at least we have obamacare.
oh wait, they tried that but corporations wanted out so the government gave them exemptions.
For those that believe healthcare is a right. I would like to know is food a right? After all you would be pretty dead without food, even more quickly than if you didn't have healthcare. So using the healthcare is a right logic, we should be able to take any food from anywhere.
Well keep in mind we do have a food stamp program and about 48 million Americans are on it. Now you personally could care less what happens to these people but others do.

You are just going off on a tangent that has nothing to do with the thread.
Are you now suggesting people are entitled to assets as well? And you dont need stellar credit, and the solid income source can consist of government handouts
As for 3% not available to the poor.. thats total bs.. Someone poor can buy a $50K home for $1,500 down, and the poor get that from their tax refund "credits", or from seller concessions. Considering a home similar size would cost $500 to rent a month, and with first month, last month, security deposit needed often times, it comes to the exact same amount if not cheaper to buy, then rent. In fact I've bought homes and received cash at the closing due to property tax credits which are granted from the seller to the buyer at closing, or buying homes lower than the appraised value..
Lets further continue onto your 2nd home argument, which isnt insurable by Fannie/Freddie What does any of this have to do with the thread?
You're kidding right? Do you have any ideal what $50K buys you in terms of a home. Even in this market it's not much for most regions of the country.
Now if you are an investor you can buy a $50K home and maybe put some renovations into it and resell it. But in most cases 50K either gets a really small house or one with repair or renovation issues.

So now food stamps are a right? If it was, we'd have 300M+ people on it, not just 48M

Yeah I know exactly what $50K buys you in the term of a home.. My first home cost $10K, my 2nd home $8K, my 3rd home cost $12K.. I bought what I could afford, I know.. a foreign thought for people nowadays, so spare me the bs that you cant buy a home for $50K...

First, free food for all because that is more important than housing. Then, free clothing for all. Then, free housing for all. Then free cars and free gas. And free insurance. And we should work on being able to get restaurant food for free. Wouldn't that be lovely to go into a nice restaurant and eat and be able to leave without paying! Free furniture could be next and definitely free dental work.
The only problem I can see is that if you ever get stranded on a desert island alone, you won't be able to have any of these things for free. With no one to leech off of one would have only his right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to keep him from an untimely death. Darn that pesky old objective reality!
