To the country and he's the communist, socialist, radical, black panther, student council, muslim, atheist, quaker, jehovah witness, african, us citizen from the country called Hawaii...

then why are all these conservatives who leveled these silly claims at him, not running like Huckabee. If he poses so much of a grave threat than why lol do you have to form a exploratory committee for the country you claim you love, that he's destroying allegedly...I mean if my country was in actual danger I would just jump in as my patriotic duty right?

#1) Because he's NOT and NEVER WAS.

#2) Because they know he's going to be nearly impossible to beat.

Because it's all lip service. Since he announced he was running for president the first time, they've tried everything possible to discredit him (Jeremiah Wright, pals around with terrorists, drug use, socialism, not eligible to run for the office, bin Laden wasn't really killed) and nothing has stuck. Despite all that, his approval rating hovers at 50%. The economy and job outlook are improving albeit slowly. At the end of the day, it's hard to beat an incumbent even one as polarizing as Obama.

Wow, so true..You would think they'd all be getting in the race to save their beloved USA from the illegal islamic Kenyan tribesman in the White House. But they aren't, they're eager to be foxnews carnival barkers.

The fact is, no one really wants to expend their political and financial capital in race that is unlikely to be won so a lot of the potential candidates are likely to wait it out until 2016 when the White House will be "open" and a win is more likely.

Despite all the bluster of Rightwing folks on this board about how Obama is going to be so easy to beat, the folks EXPERIENCED in politics know better. Compared to past Presidents' Obama's approval ratings have held up EXCEPTIONALLY WELL - and with the economy continuing to improve, by the time the 2012 elections arrive he should be in a VERY STRONG position in regards to his re-election chances. This is NOT an opinion based on my political PREFERENCE - it's one based on what's happened under similar conditions IN THE PAST.

I'll second this view point and would like to point out similarities between 2011 and 1971 and Obama and Richard Milhouse Nixon. In 1971 Nixon was looking beatable and had bad economy, collapsing dollar, the IndoChina war and an all out arms race with the USSR. The White House had just suffered two serious defeats in Congress when the Senate rejected his first two attempts to appoint people Nixon chose for the High Court. The opposition party had a leader a well regarded Senator from Maine who was looked at as a strong challenger to Nixon and the Democrats had done well in the 1970 elections. Nixon also had some of the most brutal media coverage from Herblock to Jack Anderson and Walter Chronkite. Not to mention the NY Times and Washington Post and the Right wing Media like Fox and the Radio bloviates like Rush Limbaugh or Mark Levine didn't exist in 1971. Nixon looked like a 4 and out occupant of the White House and thus a failed President. Things didn't turn out as expected 40 years ago. Nixon was reelected by a landside and nealy carried all 50 states so pigs can fly. Obama has almost none of the handicaps Tricky Dickie had at this time in his Presidency.

not a US citizen nor was I born here so I can't run for President.

I'd rather be a Chief of Staff personally.

e: not that I think Obama is any of those things other than a US citizen

Patriotism only goes so far. It doesn't put fine wine and caviar on the table. Who in their right mind would want to kill the golden goose (or fox in this case) There is still plenty of money to be made by agitating the right wing fascists without winning the Presidency.
