Read the survey question...

"Some people say the nation’s current economic problems are due to the recession which began under the Bush Administration. Others say the problems are being caused more by the policies President Obama has put in place since taking office. Which point of view comes closest to your own?"

Nowhere in that question does it state "Is it Bush's fault?" It asks if you think the state of the economy today is correlated more with the recession that started in 2007 or more with Obama's own policies.

dont kill the messenger, i just copied and pasted the link.

its rasmussen stating themselves that 54 percent blame bush for the current economic crisis, not myself.

i didnt create that tagline, rasmussen did.

Yes, the tagline states that 54% blame the "Bush recession" for current economic problems. Your thread title states "54% blame Bush for current economic crisis". That's inaccurate.

This poll doesn't address the person(s) that people blame for the current mess (My gut would say that people would state the Congress or the Republicans in general, not one man).

Again, please read the survey question and then read your own thread title.
bush recession is bush isn't it?

you are cherry picking my friend.

obama recession would be obama, right?

Would you call the 1981-1982 recession the "Reagan recession"? After all, it happened during his time.

Would you call the 2001 recession (even pre-9/11) the "Bush recession"?

And from the same article:

"Although voters still blame the Bush years for the current economic problems, they continue to trust Republicans – 46% to 42% -- more than Democrats to handle the issue of the economy. "

Depends.

My point is - the survey is asking what the root cause of the current economic crisis is. It doesn't ask for specific people to blame for it. Given that question, I would answer "the recession that started under Bush". But I wouldn't put 100% of the blame on President Bush for its occurrence, as the wheels of motion were put in a decade or two earlier.
