<applause>

A great way to combat bigots is to show how ridiculous they really are, by poking fun at them. Much more effective than a glitter bomb.

I don't know how the gay community has gotten this far with spokesman like Mr. Sulu.

How far is that? It's pretty obvious they haven't even begun to gain any respect as a human being in the state of Tennessee. I suspect that Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi would be as bad or worse.

Well gay bars aren't being raided by the police and other horrid things anymore. I want equal gay rights also, but things are much better now then they were 30 years ago for homosexuals. Of course I'm just speaking as a bystander in the whole debate really. I have no dog in the fight, I just think that homosexuals deserve the same rights as every American enjoys.

Oh and I do also. When I was a teenager in the early 50's some of my gang(literally...at least their conduct) would get half drunk and beat them and take their money. It hurt me to see it but I knew if I spoke up they would turn their wrath on me. I was in the military from 1957 to 1964 and if there were any gays in my units they kept it a secret.

Honestly I would think that Homosexuals would be embarrassed with Takei as a leader.

We're not one big lump of a thing. We don't have an official leader.

But what's wrong with George Takei? He's a cool dude.
