Says I'm a libertarian, seems to fit even though I'm registered as an independent and don't actually consider myself a libertarian. A lot of the idealogy of the libertarian platform makes sense to me though.

Says I am post-Modern but I don't like the binary nature of so many of the questions. I am much older than it says is typical for this group. I don't watch the Daily Show.

A few things I believe in:

- Everyone should pay taxes, even if a pittance. I think it is ludicrous that so many people who pay no taxes have a vote on how to spend money collected from those that do pay taxes.
- The federal government spends too much money on everything, including defense.
- Fewer people should earn a living as government employees. Politicians have too much to gain from satisfying the demands of public workers.
- Marriage should not be a federal government issue.
- The primary purpose of taxes should be to pay for government, not to change the behavior of people or businesses.
- English is this country's language. We should not enact programs that weaken the need for people to speak it.
- Abortion is a crime against mankind and should be disallowed unless the pregnancy was the result of a crime.
- Financial markets have been under regulated for a long time. I continue to not see the economic purpose of derivatives.
- Businesses and individuals should be allowed to fail, whatever the consequences.
- People should be allowed to get fat, but if they do, and suffer health problems as a result, they should have to pay for it.

That was fun! Solid liberal, no surprise for me. Kinda weird how they have me pegged, though - post-grad education(we are the best educated group!!), listen to NPR, read the NYT, watch the Daily Show, buy organic, have a passport, etc. The only thing wrong was that I'm in the South, not the NE or West.
