In the last 15 years Israels has received close to 100 billion dollars (all free) from America.
It would be a good iddea if Obama made his speech in front of a large billboard (with 5 foot letters) that states the amount.
For every second of booing America should cut off 10 million.
He was not booed when he entered; most stood and offered brief applause. Still, the crowd during the speech had long periods of stony silence, and audible boos were heard when he brought up his plan to base an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal on the 1967 border lines.
Weird that the video posted up thread shows the part where he was talking about the 1967 lines
and there was nothing but applause, thanks for the opinion piece though...

Really? I heard a LOT of grumbling AND boos and you can certainly tell by obama's demeanor the audience was not happy.

I realize you want to believe but it just ain't so.
ETA: "If there's a controversy, then it's not based in substance," Obama said in a well-received speech. "What I did on Thursday was to say publicly what has long
been acknowledged privately. I have done so because we cannot afford to wait another
decade, or another two decades, or another three decades, to achieve peace."
This is hypocrisy, when nothing Obama said is contrary to prior U.S. policy. How come nobody got their bonnets in a tizzy when Bush said this on June 24, 2002?
Quote:
"I've asked Secretary Powell to work intensively with Middle Eastern and international leaders to realize the vision of a Palestinian state, focusing them on a comprehensive plan to support Palestinian reform and institution building.
Ultimately, Israelis and Palestinians must address the core issues that divide them if there is to be a real peace, resolving all claims and ending the conflict between them.
This means that the Israeli occupation that began in 1967 will be ended through a settlement negotiated between the parties, based on U.N. Resolutions 242 and 338, with Israeli withdrawal to secure and recognized borders.
We must also resolve questions concerning Jerusalem, the plight and future of Palestinian refugees, and a final peace between Israel and Lebanon and Israel and a Syria that supports peace and fights terror."
UN 242 call for "withdrawal of Israel armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict (1967”). That means that Bush said the same thing Obama did but the Israeli lobby still considered Bush, "pro Israel" but not "Obama.'
