PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Four white Philadelphia teachers filed federal race-bias lawsuits that accuse a black principal of creating a hostile work environment and suggesting they were unfit to teach black children.
The teachers work at a predominantly black elementary school that has a recent history of racial tension. Their lawsuits say that a former principal had them read an article that said “white teachers do not have the ability to teach African-American students.”
A good teacher is a good teacher, no matter which color.
Maybe the problem is that some kids just don't respect teachers anymore (which in my view has a lot to do with the physical properties of today's kids). Ethnic issues may be a factor aggravating that further
That's actually a common belief among blacks. Guess they want to go back to segregated schools again. On a different note, overheard a black family talking at a restaurant while a news story about Obama was on the tv. They were saying they were glad he got elected but hope he doesn't get reelected cause whitey will kill him and that'll start a race war.
That's pretty interesting since we have a militant black member here on CD who feels that black people should handle educating black kids and that problems faced by black people should only be handled by black people since it's no one else's business.
Maybe it also depends on the subject. A white teacher teaching black kids African-American history might not be a good idea (Not saying this was the case here, just a general remark.)
