Are American Jews, especially if they supported Obama for his election. now feeling angry and betrayed? I'm not Jewish but I sure would be feeling like he considers me to be irrelevant. We Americans should be ashamed that our president is sucking up to the Palestinians and telling Israel to pull back to its pre-1967 borders. Israel is our only real friend over in that part of the world and we are sure not acting like one friend is supposed to do for another.

Your assumption is that the typical American Jew is stupid, that their loyalty must somehow be attached to Israel ahead of America. In fact, there are plenty of Jews in Israel who are opposed to Israeli policies against Palestinians. We, as Americans, shouldn't be as clueless as the OP tries to prove.

If Israel is "God's plan," then things will go just fine, even without 3.3 billion annually in American military aid.

Palestinians are not "the enemy." They are normal people like you and I.

It is a myth that "Israel is our only friend." 3.3 billion in aid to Gaza would make quick friends, too.

Too bad that "aid" is usually translated "weapons."

Peace,
brian

I think many agnostic Jews connected to the Democrat party could care less if Israel burned to the ground. Many religious ones or those that love Israel would be mad.

Nazis persecuted Jews for being Godless liberal commies. Are these the kind of Jews you're speaking of?

Bull-you-know-what, they killed Jews, Christians, gays and gypsies for not being them and that was about it.
That was in your mind, not in mine. Explain yourself, not me.

Are you asking me to expand on how detached some of the Jews are from Israel? I think the ones who vote Democrat often are detached.

One of my closet friends is a Jewish fellow who always voting Democrat like an addiction. I told him years ago Obama would eventually throw Israel under the bus in exactly this way. He said that would NEVER happen. I have to have a call soon and see what excuse he now has to allow Israel to be thrown under the bus and still vote Democrat.
I think it is like a bad habit. No matter what the facts, the slaps, the damage the habit tends to stay intact like a dysfunctional addiction.

How thrown under the bus? Obama just told both of them to get with it. Neither the Israeli's nor the Palestinians like what he said. As a negotiator he was right on. imo

Your assumption is that the typical American Jew must be self-hating, and pander to liberal propagandists. Your assumption is that all Jews who love Israel must be stupid (what a condescending and hate-filled attitude). You speak of loyalty to America as being a value that you yourself hold when nothing could be further from the truth based on your posts. Funny.

American Jews who love Israel also love America. It's like loving both your mother and your father. Since there appears to be a marriage of sorts between America and Israel, this analogy works fine. If and when America turns on Israel, then American Jews will have to make a choice. I certainly wouldn't choose a country that supported annhilating me and all my family, would you? No, I didn't think you would. So don't espouse that course of action for others when you wouldn't choose it for yourself.

Some Israelis are extreme leftists, deluded by the notion that if they feed the tiger, it will eat them last. You would never choose an idealogical minority group in America and use them as representative of the "right" way to think for all Americans, so why do you insist on doing that with Israel? Could it be because you want to mislead readers here?

Intelligent Israeli Jews and intelligent Jews the world over understand that self-preservation is key.
