Why is America the 'no-vacation nation'? - CNN.com

Why do we work so much and die with nothing after a couple of years of retirement.....maybe we need to enjoy life more instead of making the rich richer.

Amen...the american work force has become the laziest, most entitled group of cry babies I've ever encountered.

There is no work ethic anymore. Everything is fast food and cut corners. Big surprise...the work went somewhere else.

Guess what? Everyone is looking for value. And we don't have it.

We're going to have to change our priorities and our work ethic - it used to be something admirable...now I can't think of a day that goes by that someone doesn't F something up on the job. No one cares anymore.

In a nutshell, 30 years of right wing brainwashing has convinced low IQ, low educated whites that it's in their best interest to screw over his fellow middle class and lower class Americans rather than have the rich pay their fair share.

It's real simple to do this. Just use propaganda to divide Americans along cultural and racial lines. Domestic enemies include gays, minorities, Holllwood elites, Muslims, etc. Also exaggerate threats from outside the country...Hugo Chavez, Saddam, Iran, etc. ....Just get these dupes minds off their families well being and focused on some enemy and you'v won the battle.

We are now to the point where the GOP and bad apple Dems are about to cut Social Security and Medicare, while refusing to restore the tax rates on the richest 1% of Americans and not touching this absurd level of military spending.

It's going to get so bad for these people who refuse to think for themselves. I only feel sorry for those that do understand and are watching this slow motion car wreck in action.

Of course we could, but if we got it by dint of government force we would no longer be in the America in to which I was born. If I want more vacation (BTW, I get plenty) I think it's my obligation to seek employment elsewhere or go in to business for myself (in which case I'd probably never see a day off again!)

I don't know about that. American worker productivity has improved/increased a lot. I'm sure if you did a search with 'american worker productivity 2011' you'd get plenty of hits. Here's one:
