The debt commission calls it, expanding the tax base.. I agree, some of these people need to read the same reports they sight

I feel comfortable taking that debate to the people in 2012.
By the way, the Dems are saying no such thing. They are not running on the debt commissions plan to "kill Medicare" (your definition).

The debt commission wants to CUT taxes, not increase them.

The reality is Medicare and SS are unsustainable. One side wants to be adult, the other side wants to make political hay. The Dems are not being very courageous.

80% of Greeks don't want cuts either.

Greece is the real canary in the coal mine.
It's interesting how little the "will of the people" mean to Republicans all of a sudden. Less than a year ago it meant everything in the world to them, in fact it was the staple of their arguments. Today it doesn't mean a thing.

I wonder if you people ever stop to listen to what you say? Do you?

They are indeed, if we continue to give corporate welfare to our pals and artificially low tax cuts for the upper tier.

[quote=Randomstudent;19298465]You do realize that district's 2008 %margin for McCain was larger then the margin he had in the state of Georgia.

So it tends to be a liberal district..thanks for the info.

In NY you can vote for a candidate who supports increased taxes, big government, gun control, abortion, gay marriage, open borders, hate speech laws, socialized medicine and a teacher's union monopoly or you can vote for the Democrat.

Nope the Dems are demagogues. The Republicans are courageous for taking on an issue that may cost them at the ballot box, for the good of the country.

Killing Medicare isn't courageous. Killing Medicare is evil.

Raising taxes for everybody and cutting spending is the adult thing to do. Unfortunately not many of you would like to hear that or be spoken to like adults. You only want to hear about solutions for the uber wealthy under the guise of your latest fabrication du jour. Usually this involves a story about how welfare mommas have brought this country to their knees along with union members.

It's called leadership something that is sorely lacking by the Dems. Leveling with the people about the future of Medicare andSS must be done.

Again, the will of the Greek people is to do nothing, unfortunately they do not have that option. Neither do we.
