It certainly is true that of the people who have ripped me off, the vast majority are devout, church-going Christians. Very few nowadays have true ethics that stop them from stealing from others, but the few I know who are 100% trustworthy are atheists or simply non-religious. Lend $50 to almost any of the religious types I know, and guaranteed they'll swear that either you never lent it to them at all, or that they already paid it back.

Bill Maher is brilliant. He tells it like it is. No, I can't stand him, either. I think we all know he's right, though. Everyone needs to come clean and admit it.

93 posts later and not one person has responded to Bill Maher's assertion. All I hear is that he is a commie blah blah blah blah. Yet not one of his critics have bothered to refudiate his statements.

Sorry for getting Palineasque on ya'll.

It's rather ironic that you would be the first to defend the Christians that turned their back on Jesus teachings, and embraced murdering babies cause you feel like it, and gay, tranny, marriage a-okay, stealing is good when you take from the have's to distribute to the have not's, it's all those pesky moral teachings that have your panties in a bunch. You resent that Christians stand in your way. I will stand with them, and hope they remain strong. Without a moral fabric to hold this country together, we are doomed.
The founders were right, when they said that liberty and freedom can only work for a moral people. The age of reason and enlightenment is far, far behind us.
What does Maher contribute to make this world a better place? or put differently, what does he offer as a better alternative to religion, as guiding principles for society?

"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her" - Jesus

I have a problem with self proclaimed Christians who fiercely oppose this teaching.

Plenty of people have refuted his crap. But his followers, like him, have their minds made up. There is no convincing someone like Bill who is happy in his sin. But sadly, one day, he will believe,.....much to his shock and dismay, he will believe.
