There have been several posters, including me, that you might consider leftists, who have condemned Weiner for his conduct over the past week. Please stop calling everybody you oppose hypocrites when you haven't been paying attention to the main thread (or are conveniently ignoring posts).

Did Vitter make a string of public lies and accusations trying to cover up his misdeeds and then confess only after he was backed into a corner and could lie no more? No. He had already made amends with his wife and his own conscience by the time he was outed. Vitter was exposed long after that episode in his life was over and done with. Different situation entirely.
Yeah roy it does. That is why I brought Vitter up was because the right wingers want to deflect the shame of Weiner onto all liberals and all democrat politicians. That is no more valid than if liberals tried to deflect the shame of Vittner (and a whole lot of other republican politicians) onto all conservatives and all republican politicians. C'mon folks. Could we all just have the itegrity in our own personal conversations that we request from the politicians?
It is really weird that all of Weiners supporters who keep saying how this is just a personal matter and that everyone outside of his district should mind their own business keep coming on this thread and continue to talk publicly about such a "Deeply Personal Matter"
Guess what it is a public matter because when he is voting in Congress his vote affects what happens in every state in the U.S.
Weiner is such a pompous, arrogant, grandstanding, hypocritical, bag of hot air that I along with many New Yorkers I know feel this embarrassing meltdown couldn't happen to a nicer guy. If we are lucky, this fiasco will be his political destruction and will save us from having a Mayor Weiner in NYC. Two weiners in a row as mayor would just be too painful.
