This is for our gay serving men and women who are seldom recognized.

Are they not remembered for being soldiers or for being gay? What does being gay or straight have to do with Memorial day.

If they were soldiers they are remembered equally along with all the other millions of service men and women that never relied on their sexual status as a measure of their service.

Is the top one an actual headstone? I support gays being able to serve in our military.

The military still discriminates against those who are gay even though they may out perform their fellow soldiers.

Yes, it's the tombstone of Leonard Matlovich.

maybe instead of worrying about advertising their sexual preference, or religioyus preferance the should just be thankful they are members of the military

if gays would quit advertising that they are different, then they wouldnt be treated different

Memorial Day is for recognizing ALL the men and women who have proudly served, regardless of sexual orientation. It's not only for the heterosexuals.

This post was not intended to draw the attention of bigoted homophobes [unfortuantely you can't resist].
This post is for those men and women who have died for this country but are still discriminated against by their government and military as second class citizens.

...with liberty and justice for ALL.
All means everyone.

Even during a draft?

I mean, shouldn't the Government be able to pick and choose draftees?
