Why not abandon ethanol altogether and utilize glucose. It's the best bio-fuel there is. For those who don't catch the subtlety, glucose is converted to energy in the human body. I wish I didn't have to elaborate on it like a Kindergarten teacher, but too many people who post are purely reactionary and might not take the time to think about what is being said.
Here is a better idea - drill for more oil.

Then people will not have to pay exorbitant prices at the pump or the grocery store. The eco-freaks would rather see us extinct than drill for a single drop of oil, they have a deep-seated hatred for all human life.

40% of all corn grown goes to ethanol production and the ethanol refineries get huge tax payer subsidies to produce that inefficient fuel.
And a 9oz box of corn flakes costs $3.00

Haha. I'm an environmentalist eco-freak. I know that the world and it's current ecological state is very well adapted to supporting human life. I don't want that to change too much. I'm an environmental eco-freak because of my deep-seated love for human life. I don't want to threaten the conditions in which we know human life is able to thrive.

Maybe you get subsidies if you burn your corn flakes

Exactly the co2 released is the result of cellular respiration and the amounts are insignificant.

I wouldn't call it insignificant. Cellular respiration is an extremely important aspect of the carbon cycle in plants.

I was watching a documentary recently where they said the Chinese are trying to buy up or lease huge stretches of fertile land in Kenya and other African countries, some of it for planting bio fuel plants, some of it for growing food for the Chinese. They are making those deals with corrupt African governments, against the will of local farmers.

I did't call cellular respiration insignificant. I called the amount of CO2 produced insignificant. Re-read the post.

Who came up with that idea and aren't we simply trying to divert attention away from the real problem, i.e. our excessive energy consumption, by abusing the 'bio' label, which some people seem to think is a synonym for good or natural?
This is the insane GREEN movement!!! Got people freaked out!! The road to destruction is paved with good intentions!

WE got billions of gallons of oil right under our feet!! GOD put it there for us to use!! AND WE DON'T WANNA USE IT!!

I know!! LET'S BURN THE FOOD HE GAVE US INSTEAD!!
