Anybody here from FL or familiar with Rick Scott?

This guy is a disaster...I'm all for the "Free Market" but he just signed a bill that will allow Insurance companies to raise rates as much as they would like where previously it was limited and had to be approved by the FL government.

His reasoning is if we allow insurance companies to charge anything they want then more companies will come to Florida and then the competition would eventually drive down cost.

We haven't even had a hurricane in 5 years! and rates are still going up.

Anyway this guy has a approval rating in the high 20's and that was BEFORE this bill was signed. This guy pretty much guaranteed Florida is gonna go Blue again the next election.

I'm in Florida.

The guy is a horrible governor. His refusal to take money for HSR was political. The HSR was planned to be place on the I4 corridor, which is a swing corridor as far as politics are concerned. It's afraid that Obama could score big in this area. That's why he denied it.

Wish we had Wisconsin rules in the Florida Constitution. Scott would be recalled as rapidly as possible.

What is most likely to happen is the insurance companies will figure out the price that will maximize profits without decreasing the demand and them compete for market share around but not far from this price. They will form and unofficial monopoly to restrain the trade. The Governor will cheer. His sponsors will cheer even harder. Floridians will pay a whole lot more for insurance. That is the way thing should be. Just ask the Governor and the insurance companies.

considering he was the mastermind(CEO) of the Hospital Corporation of America and behind their $10B scam of medicare, he is just covering the backs of those who supported his sorry ass. I feel bad for the people of Florida, especially since all of those retirees are there, and they are going to be hurt most by the crap this muckracker just passed....and if the repubs are successful in passing that Ryan medicare garbage, then you might as well feed grandma and paw paw to the alligators, because they wont be able to find healthcare, especially in the sunshine state..

I know scott and his cronies have passed all kind of healthcare, welfare, and personal responsibility type laws, but what about those 700,000 jobs he campaigned on? governor scott, where are the jobs?

He is probably the worst governor in the US at the moment.

Well there are a number of others vying for that "honor". All in trouble politically, some sooner than others.

How about not buying it if it costs too much?

They need to really work on it to catch up with Ricky if they want that 'honor'.
