Where have you been? They have been buying up property here in the U.S., along with our natural resources for several years now. When the home values start to go up again, we'll all be buying them from the Chinese at inflated prices.
WTF?? this is lies...
it's not the chinese government, it's chinese businesses coming to idaho to do business. They're looking to build a huge industrial manufacturing center south of boise, chinese investment, american labor.. HA! imagine that! seriously though.. it's not china buying the state for crying out loud.. they're coming here to employ americans because american companies aren't doing it in part giving them access to the american market place..
globalization is a two way street..

What part of " red china is an enemy of these United States" do you not understand?
This story must be bogus if the network news hasn't been covering it.
For instance there was much about our current president that only came out because of alternative media. This Chines/Idaho story is all over the internet.
Stop and think about it for a second...why would international investors spend money and build facilities in Idaho? We're portraid by the MSM as a state of racists, and as others have said, one of the most conservative (fiscally) states in the nation. Heck, the state actually has, or is close to, a balanced budget.
Why invest in Idaho, rather than in that shining becon of diversity and progressivism, California?

Not sure how much is outright lying, or just ignorance. I don't recall a lot of ranting and raving when Hundai, Kia(?), BMW, Toyota and Honda built auto plants in the US. Idaho needs a manufacturing base, it's something we're sorely lacking. I'd be happier to see a Ford or Boeing plant, but if the Chinese want to invest in businesses here and hire Americans, rather than American compaines investing in, and hiring in China, more power to them.

Sinomach is not looking only at Idaho.
The company sent delegations to Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania this year to talk about setting up research and development bases and industrial parks. It has an interest in electric transmission projects and alternative energy as well.
The technology zone proposal follows a model of science, technology and industrial parks in China — often fully contained cities with all services included
It would be good to see people with experience with making money with alternative energy projects involved, instead of just our government throwing good money down the drain.

What an interesting precedent this could set! Imagine different nations getting into bidding wars over which states they want to buy.
I'll root for Canada or Germany to buy Pennsylvania.
