My prediction: those grads will get through the rest of their lives just fine without the prayer.

Praying at a public event is hardly establishing a religion, which would be more like creating a Church of the United States, or something, which has not and will not happen. Moderator cut: off topic/personal
You don't seem to know much about the court rulings interpreting that part of the Constitution, eh?

Needless to say, the SCOTUS disagrees with you, and their word is law, literally.

Another instance where the minority dictates to the majority. Good circumstance for a Flash Mob Prayer the school knows nothing about.

In other words, the Constitution is working precisely as intended, since it is a collection of rights that are guaranteed against the tyranny of the majority.

Not really. Nobody could legally stop an individual from praying. You just can't impose the practice on ALL.

Perhaps these wise words by James Madison would help?

Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations; but, on a candid examination of history, we shall find that turbulence, violence, and abuse of power, by the majority trampling on the rights of the minority, have produced factions and commotions, which, in republics, have, more frequently than any other cause, produced despotism. If we go over the whole history of ancient and modern republics, we shall find their destruction to have generally resulted from those causes.

This isn't an example of the minority dictating the majority, but minority being protected from the whims of the majority. The minority didn't ask to outlaw prayer, it demanded against a mob prayer.

The ruling from Chief U.S. District Judge Fred Biery in San Antonio came as Medina Valley High School in Castroville prepares for Saturday's graduation.
Biery's order, released Tuesday, was in response to a lawsuit filed by Christa and Danny Schultz on behalf of their son, Corwin, to block use of prayer. The judge says speakers cannot call on audience members to bow their heads, join in prayer or say "amen."
Assistant Superintendent Chris Martinez says school officials will follow the order against public prayer, but they do not believe the district has done anything wrong.
Such a ridiculous lawsuit to waste our tax dollars. If you don't want to pray, you don't have to. Nobody is forcing anyone to put their head down, pray and say Amen.

The flip side is that you are taking away the rights of those who DO want to pray...and the Christian majority outnumbers the non-believing minority.

Can you not still pray on your own time? What rights are being taken away?

I used to get sick and tired of the time spent for a little prayer at so many Air Force functions when I was in. I was surprised no one had made a fuss about such things.

Wrong. The ruling was against collectivism, not against individualism.
