Because she created a food plan that's TOO simplified? It's pretty insulting to anyone with ANY intelligence.

She isn't anywhere NEAR close to Eleanor Roosevelt.

I don't think Dolly Madison and Martha Washington have anything to worry about.

I don't think that she is even in the top 10. Her platform is not well-defined. Ask a random person and I guarantee that most won't even have an idea as to what it is. The plate concept is not going to get people to eat healthier. The majority of the population that really needs to watch what they eat are that way because they can't afford to eat any better. It isn't necessarily that healthy foods are too expensive but in a family that is not trained to know how to put meals together using all of the ingredients and leaving nothing behind will be wasting a ton of money. Education needs to be a priority when it comes to food. Not a picture of a plate or a pyramid which frankly I never keep in mind when fixing food...instead, teach people how to shop, save using coupons, grow a patio garden, etc.

You understand by saying "Protein" can mean a lot of things, right? Sure, ideally it should be say.. controlled portion of grilled chicken! mmm! But, it leaves the door open for: Burgers, fried chicken, cheesesteaks, tons of red meat (which IS fine, just not always). Let's not forget that dairy and protein are pretty much equal.. Sure, there's more protein in a piece of chicken than a glass of milk.. but how can people know the difference?

It's not even entirely about eat these 5 types of food per meal. Every meal should include fruit, vegetable, protein, dairy, and grain. Really? That's overkill and can lead to overeating. Yes, you can overeat on "healthy" and healthy foods.

Clean eating is the key. Teach THAT. Explain to the public WHY sugar = BAD.
Why fat is NOT bad.
...but some fats are
Why carbs are NOT the devil.
...but some carbs are.

Eating healthy IS very simple, but you can't be a simpleton if you want to understand. That's the problem here -- we have too many simpletons in America.

I voted no because she hasn't done anything special to warrant that kind of title.

Best first lady? Come on now.

I'm sensing some high levels of racism. Only 3 years in and she's been incredibly ambitious.

I agree. Eleanor Roosevelt is right up there at or near the top in my book as well. She did so much for the little man during the Depression years.
