So ole Paul was snitch on top of everything else. Oh well, another "patriot" myth bites the dust.

Actually if I remember correctly, she said Paul Revere raced across the country side firing shots in the air and ringing bells, in order to warn the British that the colonists weren't going to back down or give up their arms. In this account, he only mentions a warning to the British because he happens to be stopped by them and questioned. Not completely different, but not exactly the same thing, either. Personally, I think Palin was just winging it on the spot, like 99% of politicians seem to do. Some are just better at it than others.

You lefties are the ones who come out firing and bashing anything this woman says. YOU and your pals made the claim she is some sort of idiot.

Anyways, where were you when Biden made his remark about television being around when it wasnt? Where were you when Obama, Biden and other liberals have made numerous idiotic/stupid/wrong statements? No where. Just sitting there silent.

No one is perfect and people misspeak or screw up at times. It just so happens when a Conservative does it or Palin does it especially, it becomes national news used to continue your hateful, childish attacks.

I'm curious about this statement. It seems as though you are attempting to belittle someone for the way they acquired a piece of knowledge - the part about, "stumbling upon it by happenstance" and the doubt you express "that Palin actually knew this historical fine point"

Knowledge is pretty much knowledge (duh) and all knowledge is acquired. Am I missing something? Are some ways of acquiring knowledge more correct or acceptable than others? If someone tells you something and you remember it, or if you read something from a textbook and you remember it, or you read something in a newspaper at the car dealership lobby and you remember it, or you see something and you remember it, or whatever - are some these methods disqualified or inferior when discussing someone's knowledge?

I don't really get the point of your post.

"He who warned, uh, the … the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh, by ringin' those bells and, um, by makin' sure that as he's ridin' his horse through town to send those warnin' shots and bells that, uh, we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free … and we were gonna be armed."

The purpose of Paul Revere's ride was not to warn the British that they weren't going to take away our guns, and he didn't send warning shots or bells (? what confused language she uses!).

A synopsis of her story: "He warned the British by ringing bells and firing warning shots so that they (the British) would know they weren't going to be taking away the colonialists' guns."

That is not true.

After his mission, he and his compatriots were stopped by British troops - the others got away but Revere was held by the soldiers and questioned. This is incidental to the events of that night, and hardly coincides with her version of events.

I agree it's pointless - as pretty much anything Palin says is.
