As a lifelong atheist and political moderate I've often been perplexed by the darlings of the right. From the famously incurious Dubya, to the populist paranoia of Beck, to the dimwit demagoguery of Palin, they all seem to suffer from a genuine Foxworthian glorious absence of sophistication. Stranger still is the fact that this is actually considered a virtue in the schizophrenic milieu of right wing politics.

They don't seem to require much of their heroes except that they think, act, and worship exactly as they do. No evidence of intellect, ability, or competence is needed. And should you ever voice concern at their lack of depth or doubt the efficacy of their facile solutions you will most certainly be called a liberal whether or not you actually are one and in spite of the fact that most right wingers have such a superficial, bigoted, and stereotype ridden view of liberalism that it's actually more of a caricature than a description of any veracity. Sigh... what's a thinking man to do but laugh?

What makes the darlings of the right tick?

If we have to explain it, you wouldn't understand.

If the sweeties of the left and the darlings of the right could get together, maybe they could spawn some moderates...or fence sitters, or milque toasts, or flip floppers. It could happen...

We have the same questions about the darlings of moonbattery who believe:
  • If someone is wealthy and successful they're evil and it's unfair
  • All criminals are victims of society
  • Everything should be free as long as someone other than themselves has to pay for it
  • It's perfectly reasonable to pay someone a six figure salary to make change in a toll booth as long as they belong to a union because without unions everyone in America would be working for 5.00 per hour.

The darlings of the right rely heavily on anti-intellectualism, fear, and simple slogans for all problems. The darlings and their followers are a mutual admiration society.
Listening to the darlings we can hear that they have no solutions, nor ideas, but bash Obama and liberals.

Listening to the darlings we can hear that they have no solutions, nor ideas, but bash [Palin and every other person on the right].
The same can be said about the darlings on the left and we need look no further than the OP.

Keen observation of the sweeties on the left reveals a plethora of pseudointellectuals, overly anxious, inclined toward morbid depression, and very fearful about life in general. (Some of these I've known for decades, loose friendships only.) However, they do possess a certain false bravado due to their collectivist comrade support of one another to incessantly push failed agendas onto an already weakened and collapsing nation. Death promoting solutions and ideas they do have. Add to that the continual and harpied bashing of poor ole Bush and Company... still the popular banter among these boorish effetes.

That's all I do at trolling threads like these posted by people who aren't actually looking for answers but instead just want to start another chance to bash an entire group of people they don't understand but still blindly hate. If you didn't fear those darlings of the right you wouldn't know their names.

And this is just another troll thread. No serious discussion is possible in these kinds of threads.
