Studies have shown social conservatives to be less intelligent. Perhaps that has something to do with it. I also find that those on the fringes, whether it is the hypocrite tea bagger types or the tree hugging lefties, tend to have poorly though out, emotion based opinions.
It's better to be intelligent, study hard in school and have smart opinions rather than not do well in school, have a low level job and be given your opinions by talk radio.

Want to smoke weed, it's bad for you!! Want to watch nudity on tv, heathen. Want to marry the same sex, you'll burn in hell!! Want to have an abortion? You'll pay for your sins. Want to go to a hooker? Be gone evil jezebel.

i consider myself socially conservative, as in, i think you should be free to do whatever you choose (socially), as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

Well, since your question is so ridiculous towards the right....let me ask you one: why do democrats/liberals feel the need to take from those whom they feel have more? Why do they feel they are entitled to what they feel they should have - without working for it. Why do they feel the need to control what other people think about this and all the other ridiculous, socialistic ideas coming from the left?

Maybe for the same reasons libs want the government to put controls on everything, I beleive it is called nanny states and it is forced by libs, not social conservatives. I think you have your thoughts twisted somewhere..
We are not the ones that think the government should take care of everyone, we are not the ones that see to it 50% of the country pays no taxes and yet want people over X $ to pay 50% of their income to the government. How do you respond to these questions?
