You know what I just realized? All these pristine perfect people who look down their aristocratic noses at the unwashed masses using their food stamps to buy Godiva chocolates and filet mignon - how is it that you are even exposed to this riff-raff? Or is it really that you aren't the all high-and-mighty you pretend to be in an anonymous forum? Are you actually shopping for your "product of China" food at the local Walmart and running into food stamp abusers there? Because I have never seen any of the food stamp abuse stuff you all have supposedly seen first hand. And I live in a very ethnically diverse and multiple income bracket area. However, I never shop at Walmart. What gives?
I thought it was pretty common knowledge that people who claim to be genius multi-millionaires online, usually ended up being insane homeless people who ended up squatting in abandoned houses.

That or some one who hates public assistance for those lazy slackers and a jet set business owner who travels the world with his family...ends up being a socially isolated crank on public assistance so afraid of the real world he hasn't left his office chair for so long he had to have leg surgery to repair the collapsed vessels. Till collapsing due to a combination of diet, sedentary activity, and stress from a lawsuit about him stealing money from a relative.

You can also roll in the people most incised about the health care law, and public assistance, to be on public assistance and governmental health supplement programs. They certainly have the most time to do so.

Absolutely. And the cost is up 100% since 2008.

The bigger the government program, the more there will be huge waste and fraud.

We should totally eliminate food stamps.

I agree..eliminate the food stamps and replace it will real food instead at local food pantries.

They did away with the "stamps" and moved to the card which reduced waste and fraud. Now move away from the card and reduce it more.

Then again the banksters process the cards and get their kickbacks from Uncle Sam so it may not happen.

Of course its widespread. I can't walk 4 blocks to Kroger's without being propositioned at least twice for Food Stamp Fraud. People will even approach you while you're in Kroger's.

"May be..." There has been for decades, like the last 40 years. Probably $1 TRILLION of your $14 TRILLION National Debt is Food Stamp Fraud. Aren't you glad?

Food stamps should be only good for healthy food items period. No soda, candy, chips etc. etc. The govt. already does this with WIC coupons for pregnant women so it would be no problem to do the same with food stamps. Michelle Obama should lobby for this as part of her program to improve nutrition for low income children. It seems like a no-brainer but the powerful food and beverage lobbies will oppose it and invoke "freedom of choice" and "nanny state" arguments. Food stamp abuse is something liberals and conservatives both can love!

Any other grievances and anecdotal incidences of fraud in your family? I'll be happy to oblige.
The problem is, it's NOT fraud.

It is not illegal.

It is there for the taking.

That's why there should be means testing.

Go in front of a board of taxpayers and plead your case.

WIC is another joke.

It's not just for pregnant women....It's for Women, Infants and Children.

Yet again, "We the People" are forced to take responsibility for someone else.

Some would say that the WIC program is money well spent because a healthy diet while pregnant and breast feeding produces a healthier baby which means lower average doctor and hospital bills later.
I have no problem with a generous food stamp program as long as it's buying healthy food only.
I don't think we want mobs of hungry people hunting and gathering food in the streets of the US.
But we dont't want kids who eat a steady diet of crap either. The just end up unhealthy both physically and mentally and are another contributing cause to the decline of America,

The world according to alphamale, right? Do flying unicorns fart rainbows in your imaginary utopia?

Do you have any idea how ridiculous it sounds for you to be venting about what is perfectly legal in this country? If you have ideas on how things should be done differently, why are you wasting your time here? Go get you some of your local representative and make the changes you desire.

Or just stop whining about the things you have no control of. That would be a lot easier to do.
