All I hear is "The poor people, the middle class is going away" or the neocons saying "How dare you tax the wealthy they deserve every cent they get". Yet I never hear any sympathy garnered for the upper middle class. This imo is the demographic that is getting screwed over the most in this country. Not only do the pay consistently the highest percentage of their salaries towards taxes(Not subject to same tax breaks and loopholes as the wealthy, and also dont have high percentage of monies in equities as compared to wealthy taxed at only 15). They pay the highest percentage of tax straight off of their w2s! Those who make 100-300k a year in this country are the ones who are getting bent over the most!

I complain about the middle class getting screwed all of the time. THe problem is that nobody really represents the middle class economic interests.

I think we need a new political party. A populist party that represents the interests of the middle class. Sadly, the middle class is getting smaller and smaller every year as the rich keep getting richer and the poor class keeps getting larger.

Well, incomes are still rising for the upper middle while they're falling for the lower middle, so there's that.

You do have a good point though.

Everyone has the same "tax breaks and loops holes".

Most just do not use them.

Look at it this way:

You've got a roof over your head, chances are its a pretty nice one.

You've got a car or two or three.

You've got a good job.

You can fill your refigerator anytime you damn well please

You probably have the option of taking a really nice vacation.

You've probably got all the modern technical goodies, big screen TV computers, and any other goodies your heart desires.

Unless you are a terrible money manager you are not sweating how pay your bills.

You can if you want send your kids to private school. At the very least you are free to pick and choose an area to live in with a school district that has above average academic resources and teachers compared to other school districts.

In light of the circumstances of many Americans going through in the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression the question is:

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT?

bwahahaha
Seriously though, I assume the upper-middle class is concerned with itself.
If everyone else has it worse, they're not going to make the time to worry about the upper-middle class.

The lower-middle class have more to be concerned about imo.

All true; however, the same thing could be said for the wealthy except they have more of everything and are taxed at a lower rate.

The middle class HAS NOBODY TO BLAME BUT THEMSELVES FOR NOBODY REPRESENTING THEIR INTEREST.

Ronald Reagan told you that unions were awful. And then you told yourself that unions were for "Blue Collar" people. Meanwhile workers in other parts of the world have preserved their unions and they are a powerful political forces in elections and government policies, and corporations and the wealthy don't run roughhod over people.

Middle class Americans are for the most part sheep that perfectly content to have a comfy job and a 3% to 5% pay raise while corporate executives and investors laugh all the way to the bank ON THE BACK OF YOUR LABOR.

You make a good point about the unions.
