I have the facts and no Rail / Transit. The only thing your interested in , is bashing it because you don't care....alot of ppl do care and there opinions matter more then yours... The fact that you don't live in this region , makes your comments worthless. I could care less what a non-Northeastern has to say , theyre not the ones dealing with the traffic jams and high gas prices....and bad drivers....
Sorry, traffic jams, bad drivers and gas prices are not unique to your zip code. Move closer to your job and keep your hands out of my pockets to fund your pet projects.

Its a Northeastern thing and were doing something about it , mostly with state funding....so you can shovel it....its not your $$$ you don't live here. I can say the same for little pet projects in ur state..... Do you mind all the billions being poured in Highway and Bridge projects , its equal to the Rail / Transit projects....?

Don't know about anyone else but IMHO this administration has to go down in history as the most inept in American history.
Hope and Change and Win the Future and all that malarkey. Give me a slow boat to China any day.

Accuracy and facts tend to be inconvenient to those who want to run around pushing their ideology over the realities.

The point is we don't have the money for all these pet projects. States don't have the money and neither does the fed. Take all these projects and shove em. Put that money towards state and fed deficit reduction. If your state is running a surplus then lower taxes. If a hi speed rail is viable then private money will fund it. Anybody guess how much private money is being offered up to fund hi speed rail??

Yeah its absurd to pay down the deficit instead of funding some train line that nobody will use. That type of attitude is what has gotten this country into the financial mess it's in today.

I personally think this train is a stupid idea but I wanted to comment on your post. It isn't that many people from Chicago would want to go to Iowa City, its that many people from Iowa city would probably want to come to Chicago.

But it's always more fun spending other people's money. If the feds would pay for it, I would support a rail from my house to Home Depot, and another one to my Country Club. Bring it on !!!!!
