Damn people are stupid, they don't support affirmative action for for basketball because "it would be taking better players off the team because of race, only athletic ability should matter" what the hell do they think affirmative action does? Places have to lower standards in order for minorities to get hired and a lower qualifiedminority gets hired or accepted into a college over a more qualified white person.
No, affirmative action assures that qualified minorities get located and accepted into college or hired at a job.
Well, the original video was simply trying to make a point and nothing more. It certainly wasn't trying to get Affirmative action instilled into the athletic teams. Like it or hate it, Affirmative Action is a race-based program, and it does racially discriminate. The standard reply is that blacks have been discriminated against for centuries by whites, therefore Affirmative Action is an acceptable discrimination since it targets whites. My thought has always been, When are we going to end the racial mindset of our country? It certainly doesn't look like the public institutions are going to do it. It seems that the strategy is to reverse the racism rather than attack it.

Again, the NBA is DOMINATED by white males. Period, point blank. And so is the NFL, the NHL and the MLB. Sports PERIOD is the domain of white males. Only the players for the most part are black (in some sports).
It's not a liberal position, it's a conservative one. White right wingers (at least on this forum) complain that there aren't enough white players in the NBA, while not acknowledging that it's white men who make the decisions on who gets drafted, placed on rosters and paid. If more white guys (a la world champ Dirk Nowitzki) could play, there'd be more white guys in the NBA.
So its about merit? Aha!
