I now people that don't want to move, that can't sell their house, that can't find a job. It's nothing but excuses. And that's fine. But don't whine that it's not your fault when you don't make the hard choices.

Default fedreal funds = my tax money

'a move that would have cost the state nothing and brought to Arizona millions in federal funds.'

Cost AZ nothing and the rest of the country picks up your tab so it's okay?

To say the Reps don't care about the unemployed is a mindless rant with no substance.

What would their motive be in alienating so many people?

what political advantage would be gained if they didn't care about the unemployed?

The newspaper here in Phoenix recently had an article with people standing in line for public assistance, the guy in the picture was quoted as saying "With this economy, people need help."

Of course he's clutching a large iced coffee drink that probably cost enough for two meals cooked at home while standing in that line. Help me! I can't afford to get my tattoo work touched up. Ahhhh!

At least legislators get paid
If a person can't find a job and they are on unemployment from AZ, PANHANDLING pays more. Did anyone see that Stossel show where the panhandlers were making like $30 an hour? Unemployment in AZ pays $240 a week. So let's see, a person panhandles for 40 hours a week and makes $30 an hour, that's $1200 tax free or $240 a week and pay taxes.

You can make $280 a week at McDonalds. $360 at In-n-Out Burger. All higher salaries than unemployment.

Unemployment in AZ doesn't pay crap anyway.

Well, I do know AZ as I live here. These extended benefits would not have cost the state a dime. Just more meanness on the part of this right wing run state. Yeah, simple meanness.

What do you know. You live in NY. Republicans are, by nature, heartless. It's no surprise this is happening in AZ.

Well, excellent point and just reinforces what I've said and this is a very right wing state. Flat out, in your face, lack of caring for its citizens.
