In last night's debate, Rep Bachmann's responsed to a question about our involvement in Libya with use of an odd phrase: "We are the head, and not the tail"
It turns out that this expression, taken from the Book of Deuteronomy, is the battle cry of the Dominionist movement. Bachmann was giving a coded "wink-nudge" to a group of radical Christians who, not content to wait for the rapture, are intent on paving the way for Jesus's Second Coming here the US, creating a theocracy by infiltrating and taking over the social, political, military, and financial functions of our democracy.
Bachmann has blown this particular dog whistle several times in the past, slipping the "head, not the tail" phrase into speeches. So has Sarah Palin.
Even the proliferation of recent threads on this board praising the state of Texas to the sky may be linked to the Dominionist movement. Turns out there was some kind of a prophocy within the movement in 2002 that Texas would "lead the way" to a Christian revolution (either that, or the dude who keeps starting those threads works for the Texas Chamber of Commerce )
Generally, I debunk conspiracies, not encourage them. But I'm reminded of the scandal at the Air Force Academy several years ago, where the Command Staff was apparently made up of these nuts, and was accused of proslytizing and religious discrimination... makes you go "Hmmm..."
She must have scared the left and they have issued orders to the morons to hit the airwaves and the internet to drag her down. She was very, very good.

Bachmann is playing to the far right/lunatic fringe of the republicans/tea party. I'd bet she's going to start getting a ton of funds flowing her way from the Koch's and other radical organizations in an attempt to beat out Romney, though either way they still don't have a chance to beat Obama.

I am not a fan of Obama but he definitely would have an easy win over Bachmann if she got the nomination.
