Most great inventions were invented in Europe. The only reason why the US appears to be the land of ingenuity is because it was good as commerce. The US took inventions and made mass markets for them. For instance, the the light bulb was not invented by Thomas Edison. He was just determined enough to create a market for light bulbs.
better hit the books .....While he did not invent the very first light bulb... he bought the patent from some english guys who couldn't make it work fixed it and sold it.... Why don't you
use this American invention we are conversing with and do some more research.....

Edison invented it independently of others, and his version was the most practical.
Of course you leave out the phonograph, telegraph, telephone, burning fluid, Newhouse trap, Colt's revolvers, early repeating rifles such as the Winchester, the circular blade for cutting lumber, and on it goes. A little browsing of U.S. patent records might give you an idea of how much innovation has come out of American minds.
Airplane. Car. Computers. Internet. Phone. Discovery of electricy. Oil wells.
I'm sure I could go on. Yawn.
The Wright Brothers were not the first in flight. That's a big American myth.
The first computer was invented in England. Look it up.
The car was not invented in the US. It was invented in the east.
The internet was not invented here either.
I think you should do more research before making general statements.
