Goshen College will no longer play The Star-Spangled Banner at sporting events, school leaders announced, reversing last year's decision to allow the use of the national anthem for the first time in the Mennonite college's history.

Mennonites and Amish do not owe alliegance to nations, for them a pledge of alliegence or national anthem would be a violation of their religious beliefs. This was a problem in the Revolutionary War which Ben Franklin was very upset about. Nothing new

They'e Mennonites--a group I have a ton of respect for--so there's no surprise here. What I'm shocked about is that they played it for that brief time in the first place.
