You have to admit, the current version of the GOP, beginning with Bush, and his current supporters, are more pathetic than any imaginable. Consider these facts:

1) They elected George Bush. In their judgment, Bush was the best man suited to represent the interests of the american public. Which public he represented resulted in disastrous consequences for this country and other sovereign nations around the world. His was a failed presidency and he is widely regarded as the worst ever.

2) They reelected George Bush. More evidence that their judgment and political instincts stink, they sold the country on the idea that this village idiot deserved another four years to "finish the job." He didn't finish the "job" that they campaigned he'd finish (2 mismanaged wars and no bin Laden), but he damn near finished off this country.

3) They are ultimate sore losers. Exposed as frauds by 8 horrific years of Bush, they attempted to attribute all of the Bush-created problems to the newly-inaugurated President Obama the very day he took office. Suddenly, Bush never happened. Rather than working to correct their incompetence, they become obstructionists. No solutions, just big pouting babies who shake their heads NO to everything. Pathetic.

4) Nothing more than Neanderthal obstructionists. We finally have an intelligent man at the helm, one who declares that "ideological puristy does not solve problems." He seeks solutions from ANYONE to solve the problems which plague this country. Yet, Republicans can only offer the same ridiculous, nonsensical solutions which favor only the most privileged. Their sole intent is not to help solve the problems, but to do what they can to keep President Obama from solving them, so they can make a claim that he should be a one-term president. No clue.

5) Their narrative sucks. Thread after thread of idiotic nonsense, lunatic spins, and sour grapes, they distort the reality. The reality is that they gave this President the worst mess in history, one that they created over 8 years. Is it reasonable to expect this President to solve every GOP-created problem in 3 years? Absolutely not. But, President Obama is making great progress and three years in, has done more than both Bush Presidents and Reagan combined. The narrative continues to get more ridiculous, the more desperate they get. After all, President Obama has been successful thus far, across the board.

6) The list of candidates that the GOP has carted out is one of the sorriest in history. My God! Bachmann is lying already, claming the President is a 1-term President. Tacky, misinformed, hollow, no record of success, no record of balancing a budget or reducing a deficit, and certainly no record on running the country after George Bush has gotten his hands on it. Absolutely shameful.

7) Still the party of Bush. Bad, bad, bad.

8) Sarah Palin's continued presence is an embarrassment. Even she knows that she is unqualified and unpresidential as a person can get. This is why she travels around, luring in unsuspecting suckers to boost her personal fortune, avoiding political issues and scrutiny. She's a disgrace and an incredibly negative reflection on the state of the GOP today. Her presence in the GOP brings the party down to unrecognizable levels. Quite a shame.

9) They have become synonymous with bigotry and racial intolerance, exclusion not inclusion. They focus on the differences between us not the similarities that we share in common. They are still the party supported by the most racially bigoted segment of this country.

10) They only care about spending, the deficit, and the economy when a Democrat is in the White House. Bush had this country in an economic free-fall. The economy was in shambles by the time Bush left, as the rich were getting much richer, everyone else was going to hell. The GOP sat silent. Now they're screaming about the economy because this week the numbers weren't good and they have nothing else. Bush took a surplus and in the process of running that to a record deficit, the GOP said nothing. Suddenly now, they're concerned about the deficit and want to get rid of Medicare in the process. Pathetic. How about spending? With Bush, they supported that wasteful trillion dollar spending spree, fighting and losing to a militarily inferior opponent, while this country bled to death. Now they want to eliminate Medicare, send the poor and disadvantaged to hell, and attack Unions. They don't mind spending in other parts of the world to control the oil and "spread democracy", but the impoverished at home deserve no consideration. Shameful.

Frankly folks, our biggest problem is the GOP. They have been utterly useless and their actions have been severely detrimental to the health of this country. Their policies and narrative, stink. Has there ever been a more pathetic version of the GOP than the one that we are stuck with today?

The current version of the Democratic Party is certainly the most pathetic ever, dominated by union cronies.

Lol, despite the hussy fit on the left, they are going to get their heads handed to them in 2012. The economy is down the tubes, Obama dragged us into two new wars, 70% of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction. I think the country believe the Dems are the most pathetic since Jimmy Carter!

Cheers!

You are correct that the Dems are pathetic. They really are and, as a party, kind of always have been. However, for you to fail to see how truly against the people the GOP is and how crazy their candidates and ideas are these days is having some blinders on. They are so far out there that many of the independants cannot stomach it.

I am still watching closely for them to pull a gem out of their hat that I can feel good about voting for. Or at least not as scared about voting for. But they have too much crazy going on right now.

No, you are confusing brave for crazy. The Republicans are trying to engage the public in a grown up conversation about serious issues. The Dems are trying to demagogue the issues. Republicans discussing Medicare is translated by the Dems into the Republicans are trying to kill granny. We are at a critical juncture in the history of the country, the demagogues can scare you and we can hurdle in the same direction as Greece or we can act like adults and face our problems head on.

No, it's not really their message as much as their messengers.

I think the majority of Americans are not so superficial as to put more emphasis on the messenger than the message. I think they have learned from their mistakes.

The left is terrified, as they understand that they will lose the white house and senate in 2012. People have been awakened to the dangers of unchecked federal spending and Keynesian economics. 2012 elections will be rough on the libs, yet will be a clear mandate from the people. Like Carter, Obama will make liberal a dirty word and it will take the nation another thirty years before they forget about how bad he was.

Not when the messengers come off as bat$h1t crazy. And they do. I realize they don't to everyone that's why there's something for everyone out there. But don't underestimate the offensiveness of some of them.
