We've destroyed African-American society by removing all jobs from the cities (and now the nation as a whole), and then criminalizing the drugs that are left as the only economy. Before Big Business destroyed the economies of the cities by wholesale destruction of the labor market, African-American urban communities and families actually did well. The Drug War, while primarily a way to massively expand government power and financial confiscation, was the double-punch that effectively constituted genocide.

For a nation that pretends to idolize and give special treatment to African-Americans (with preferential hiring for a miniscule number of jobs), at the same time we allow Government policies that are devastating and a whole new version of modern slavery.

I'm surprised that so many liberals allow this race war to continue (because they support Big Government first and foremost), while loudly proclaiming their support of the rights of disadvantaged minorities.

Those racist Democrats pre 1968 now call themselves Republicans.

So why the did the South suddenly decide, out of the blue, to switch from Democrat to Republican?

Thats what I was saying when I said "Loophole"
I would not hurt someones feelings.

But you seem to feel that the government should mandate who I hire?

Life is not like those beer commercials.

They should mandate you hire regardless of color but that is almost unenforceable...so at the very least we just keep the power out of the States hands.

Barry Goldwater - was against the Civil Rights Act. In fact based his campaign on it in 1964 on it.

Ronald Reagan was against the Civil Rights Act.

Rand Paul is against the Civil Rights Act.

Ron Paul is against the Civil Rights Act.

The fact of the matter is Republican presidential adminstrations tend to de-emphasize the enforcement of civil rights laws and there has been NO REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION IN THE LAST 50 YEARS that has dramatically reduced powerty of ALL Americans much less Black Americans.

Bush 43
Americans Below The Poverty Level
2001 - 32.907 million 2008 - 39.829 million - increase 21.04%

Overall Population Growth
2001 - 281.475 million 2008 - 301.041 million - increase 6.95%

During the Bush 43 Administration poverty INCREASED three times faster than rate of population growth.

Clinton
Americans Below The Poverty Level
1993 - 39.265 million 2000 - 31.581 million - decrease 19.57%

Overall Population Growth
1993 - 259.278 million 2000 - 278.944 million - increase 7.58%

During the Clinton Administration poverty DECREASED 2.5 faster than the population grew.

Reagan
Americans Below The Poverty Level
1981 - 31.822 million 1988 - 31.745 million - decrease 0.24%

Overall Population Growth
1981 - 227.157 million 1988 - 243.53 million - increase 7.21%
During the Reagan Administration poverty was relatively flat compared to population growth.

Nixon-Ford
Americans Below The Poverty Level
1969 - 24.147 million 1976 - 24.975 million - increase 3.43%

Overall Population Growth
1969 - 199.517 million 1976 - 212.303 million - increase 6.41%

During the Nixon - Ford Administrations poverty INCREASED about half as fast as the population grew.

Kennedy-Johnson
Americans Below The Poverty Level
1961 - 39.628 million 1968 - 25.389 million decrease 35.93%

Overall Population Growth
1961 - 181.277 million 1968 - 197.628 million increase 9.02%

The trend is pretty clear overall for the past 50 years the policy of Democratic presidential administrations do a much better job of creating and implementing policies that help poor and middle class Americans have better lives. Republican policies tend to favor corporate interest and wealthy individuals.
