Not really, unless you can tell me that there is a way to know someone is gay simply by looking at them.

PDA is fine for straights, disgusting for gays. Hypocrisy duly noted.
The only hypocrisy is in the make believe world you just made up. I think most people at a public pool would be disgusted by any couple grinding away in front of children. Let us not forget this also becomes a public health issue no different than urinating or deficating in a pool or a diver that hits his head and bloodies up the place.

Lets just assume these mentally retarded gay men did cross some line - they were having a full blown make out session at the public pool (even though that doesn't at all seem to be the case). You think that an appropriate response by a city worker is to approach their caregiver and tell her they have to leave the pool since "gay people aren't allowed to swim at the pool" while also expressing personal religious beliefs on the immorality of homosexuality?

p.s. Just as interesting side note, I was a lifeguard starting at age 15 (15-17 at my local public pool, 17-22 part time at my college pool). When I was 16 I had to deal with 2 mentally retarded adults (man and women) having full-on sexual intercourse while in the water.

Public health issue? lol What are you imagining here, that they "did it" in the water? The speculation just keeps getting wilder.

Not sure what PDA means, but in New England a hetero couple would be told to knock it off, and if not told to leave.

Public displays here are not going to be the norm even for hetero's.

...If I was there with small children then that's a different story.
Unless that 300lb woman is grinding it's not the same thing now is it? I know that how you look and how you act are two different things..not a complicated concept.

Both fail to meet the criteria of "your business." That's how they are similar.

New England is not the issue here. You guys are very fair about most things, including gay rights.

Certain other parts of the country, however, have a blatant double standard.

You sayin' in the south a hetro couple can grind, kissy face, and hug in public displays of affection? That won't fly here on a wedding day for that matter. Maybe in a church for a quick kiss and a hug, but not on the church steps. Here you might get that as a photo op but not for more than once if the cops are around.

I figured out what PDA was.
