Ron Paul wants the Treasury Department to count all 688,888, 9,300 tons, of gold bars, drill a hole in each one and assay the filings (I suppose to insure that someone hasn't covered some lead bars in gold leaf) at a estimated cost of $60 million. This is despite the fact that the Treasury inspectors (sworn law enforcement officers), the Office of Government Accountability and an independent auditor have been doing just that (sans the assay which destroys a portion of the bars being tested) since the 1980's! Why does Uncle Paul want to do this? Because he has read on the INTERNET that the gold is no longer there
This is part of the reason I have reserved judgement on Ron Paul as a candidate. Just when you think he's gathering steam in the mainstream, he comes out with a nugget of radicalism. He's basically the conservative/libertarian version of Dennis Kucinich.
ovcatto, you lost your sanity when you blindly supported your boy, barry, no matter what.
Time to put you on ignore...

I don't blindly or otherwise support anybody or anything no matter what. Be aware that there are somethings that I share and somethings which I do not. To assume otherwise could wind up making you look like a fool.
