I wanted to vote but had no choice since as a protestant I don't see myself as an evangelical. Those just aren't the same things except to some atheists and other lefties.
Atheism is the belief that no deity or deities exist. An Atheist is someone who denies the existence of a "God".
That's fine and dandy, but it's merely the faith that deities don't exist. There is no proof.
Hard to accept that it's faith, huh.
So what you're saying is that not believing in something for which no proof exists requires faith and is therefore a religion?
There are an infinite amount of things that I do not believe in because I've never seen any proof of their existence. I guess that makes me an adherent of an infinite number of religions.
I don't worry about any definition of that group. I keep hearing from left leaners that there is something with that name and do not consider my church to be a part of that group. I would think that part of my problem might be that I believe in following what I see in the New Testament of the Holy Bible and don't get wound up in any denominational attitudes. If all those TV preachers are evangelical I just can't be one of those.

Heh, I knew we would agree on something, eventually!
I was raised catholic but had a pretty quick falling-out with that (like in grade school). Later in life I joined the Presbyterian church, but haven't been active for a long time.
I would never equate protestants with evangelicals. They go together like oil and water.
Wow. when I first read that I thought you typed you were an othradonist.
slow down joe...slow down.
