guess what, when those townhall meetings happened, it was their representitives meeting with the people that elected them to office.

after all, if you remember, the majority did not want UHC, and it was passed over their objections. maybe if those politicians would have done what they were elected to do, then maybe they would not have had the people yelling and screaming at them.

the democrat party pushed this through, just to get more control over the people unconstitutionally.

Those people were astro-turf Republicans aka teabaggers who likely did not vote for the Democratic Representative. Republicans had plenty of opportunity to object to HCR, and they did just that. They were in the minority and they lost the vote... it's as simple as that. That's how things work in a Democracy, the majority rules.

ahhh, sort of like all the teachers (from out of state) and the nea that came to Wisconsin to protest walker for his bill on teachers unions. you mean like that?

also republicans in both houses were in the minority, but the majority of the population did not want UHC, and that is just plain wrong.

maybe 1 of these years we can get rid of UHC and let people decide their own health insurance.

The majority of Republicans did not support it, but Republicans only make up a segment of our population and do not speak for the entire nation.

You guys need to accept that you lost. The chance of Affordable Health Care been overturned is about the same as social security or medicare been dismantled. It's not gonna happen, even with a Republican President and a Republican Congress. America doesn't believe in going back to the past.

Tyranny of the majority? I'm sure you're aware that America isn't supposed to work that way.

What's your solution, regression?

Tyranny? Really? All because you didn't support it. Sounds like you have a problem with the idea of democracy itself which doesn't surprise me since most Republicans are totalitarians at heart.

The Left has been intolerant, violent and untethered from reality since it's inception during the French Revolution. It's been downhill for them ever since. I'm not surprised by this latest example of Leftist inspired violence. Beck should consider himself lucky his family escaped with their lives.

My solution is to stick to our constitution, and not try to become Western Europe. Universal health care will fail in America, mark my words.

Tyranny of the majority is actually a very common phrase and it does not indicate a particular position on the issue in question; you should know this if you want to talk politics.

For example, gay marriage. If 51% of people are against it, should they be able to rule over the 49% that are for it? If they were, that would be tyranny of the majority. I would not agree in the tyranny of that 51%, and I have a feeling you would agree with me.

Tyranny of the majority allows the majority to oppress the minority.

leftist inspired violence? In your warped right wing world, I suppose a nice day out in the park like this is what you call violence:

Glenn Beck Catches a Movie in the Park
If that is what you consider violence on the left then liberals must be angels.

On the other hand, don't get me started on right wing violence. Ever heard of Hitler?
