Sure looked like a dictatorship when they 'crammed' all the socialist garbage down our throats.

Now there's a little 'bump' in that socialist highway

The {D} leaders and their followers are just not getting it, Obama wants nothing to do with raising taxes. The Bush and now Obama tax cuts are still in place and Obama wants to keep the 2% payroll tax cut in place for 2012. read here Ignoring liberal Dems, Obama endorses longer payroll tax holiday through 2012

Actions speak louder then words and you would have to come to the conclusion Obama talks about raising taxes but won't do it. Have {D}'s ever wondered why?

Good for Paul and the other GOP Freshmen, who, as promised, don't seem to be doing "business as usual." Six months and not "one hearing devoted to the debt ceiling..." !!! What in the heck have they been doing?

This is definitely an article worth reading. (even if they mixed up Ron and Rand - do they do this deliberately??? )
Dang, are responsible adults actually exercising some power in the Senate these days? The spoiled children are whining about loosing their summer vacation.

I do not think that is what is holding him up since his base wants tax increases. Plus I would hope that no one would think his actions are based on elections and call it leadership?

What an absolute lie! Harry Reid canceled the 4th of July holiday.

Recess Canceled; Senate To Work Next Week On Debt : NPR (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=137157495 - broken link)

A day after President Barack Obama accused congressional leaders of procrastinating over the impasse, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., announced that the chamber would meet beginning next Tuesday. The Republican-run House is not in session this week but had already been scheduled to be at work next week.

From my link, which I'm sticking with:

"Our country is going bankrupt. We shouldn't be going out on a holiday," said Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisc, who led the charge to oppose the break. "We're here today saying we should get back in session, but not just to be in session. We need to come back in session in the United States Senate and start addressing the problem."

And from your link, we see where the POTUS's priorities are:

Recess Canceled; Senate To Work Next Week On Debt : NPR

"Where is the president? Campaigning," said Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., one of a parade of GOP senators who took to the Senate floor to accuse Obama of not tackling the deficit standoff. "We're here, Mr. President."

Harry Reid didn’t think the budget was important LAST year when the Democratic Congress FAILED TO PASS A BUDGET for the first time since 1974 which incidentally was when another Democratic Congress also failed.

NOW we’re supposed to believe he gives a d@mn about fiscal responsibilities
