Now it seems people want to dictate some aspects of people's private sex lives.

Can anyone tell me why we allow progressive liberals to dictate how we live our lives?

I sure hope no-one in California reads this, might give them idea's.....
Actually, I'm not surprised. This is pretty typical for Germany, culturally. Rules, regulations and all is par for the course over there.

Is that actually even important the amount? What is important is debt to GDP and Germany isn't exactly all golden on that front. And yes, Germany is losing its manufacturing base and will continue to lose its manufacturing base for decades on end.

Umm.. we make lots of bombs, planes, guns and high rises.

I don't mean to laugh or anything but if the Germans enjoy all that they're in for an even bigger surprise than U.S. citizens are. Last year alone the worlds population grew by four times the size of the Germans.

Given enough time I'm sure Germany will look like American soil to any American president.
Germany is thriving and will contune to thrive because they are not doing to their middle class what is being done here to our middle class.

Tell you what...fix YOUR country first. Is Germany 14 trillion in debt and losing it's manufacturing base? Your country can't manufacture a teaspoon at home....meanwhile, Germany has an export economy featuring world class manufacturing, good healthcare for it's citizens, 6 weeks of vacation for it's citizens, clean streets, great roads and accessible rail, good schools, and a government that actually works. Yea...the buses actually run on time.

Meanwhile, a section of I-35 fell into the Mississippi River.

You need to be worrying about this place, and let the Germans handle Germany. They're doing a much better job than we're doing of running this place.
And in your second country they pay 50% of their salary in taxes too.......

The Green Party in Germany is not trying to intervene in people's use of sex toys. They are not trying to ban sex toys.

They want consumer safety protections in sex toys just as there are protections for other consumer products. In the second sentence of the leading summary: "Dildos and vibrators contain dangerously high levels of phthalates and other plasticizers, which can cause infertility and hormone imbalances, they claim."

This has nothing to do with banning sex toys. They want studies done on the safety of toys that contain the substances they claim are harmful. They want government action, perhaps a ban on the manufacturing substances - but not the products.

Similar to the BPA issue not so long ago - was that an attempt to ban plastic bottles? No!
"They claim" Boy if I had a dollar for every time I've read that in connection with somebodies justification for banning something I'd be rich.

And of course they have "experts" to back up their claims...

I remember all the "experts" decrying the original freon because it depleted the ozone layer, so it was banned and after a couple of billion dollars a new type freon was in use...... Decades later the ozone layer continued to be depleted and new "experts" concluded the old "experts" were wrong....

Something somewhere is going to be dangerous to someone.

If the green party was around in the stone age they would have put a stop to fires because it could be dangerous to one's health.......

I should very much like to see a link to any reputable scientific publication declaring that "the old experts were wrong" about CFCs influence on the ozone layer. Frankly, I think you remember incorrectly.

The continued depletion was 100 % expected due to one of Freon's very well known attributes: It's low reactivity. Which means it sticks around forever, or fairly close. Which, again, means that it takes decades before the CFCs already in the atmosphere stop destroying ozone.

I make good $$ in the US; I live in Europe and am currently in Britain where the dollar isn't worth jack.
It's embarassing to look at the US from a world viewpoint.

Where is the 50%? The 19% is sales tax which is not 0% in the USA. Might check out a better source.

People sometimes get confused with VAT. If you are comparing GDP per person, PPP, It is already included in the PPP. And most countries in Europe have some items exempt for VAT, so the average is less than the rate.
